Spring
School in-house Training is being held by Zhejiang University and Fujian Normal
University as part of the EU's SUFOGIS international cooperation initiative
(GIS and Remote Sensing for Sustainable Forestry and Ecology). The opening
ceremony of SUFOGIS spring school in-house training was held online on the
afternoon of April 8, 2022. Professors Heping Zhao and Jingfeng Huang of
Zhejiang University, Professor Ioannis Gitas of Aristotle University of
Thessaloniki, Professor Jinming Sha of Fujian Normal University, manager Fang
Ren of Piesat Information Technology Co.,Ltd, and representatives and students
from universities, institutions, and companies from home and abroad attended
the opening ceremony. Professor Jingfeng Huang of Zhejiang University hosted
the opening ceremony.
During the
opening ceremony, Professor Huang, Professor Zhao, Professor Gitas, Professor
Sha and manager Ren gave addresses, introducing the background, process and
phased achievements of SUFOGIS project, as well as the basic information and
agenda of the spring school in-house training. They also greeted the attendees
and wished the spring school in-house training a happy outcome. The essential
situation and agenda of the in-house training were presented by Qi Shao of
Zhejiang University.
SUFOGIS Spring
school in-house training will be held from April 8 to 23. In the next 2 weeks,
scholars from Aerospace Information Research Institute (CAS), Tsinghua
University, Zhejiang University, China Agricultural University, Ningbo
University, National Satellite Meteorological Center, Fujian Normal University,
Hangzhou Dianzi University, Jiangxi Agricultural University, PIESAT Information
Technology Co., Ltd and Beijing Spider Co., Ltd will give presentations on
vegetation and ecology of remote sensing, hyperspectral remote sensing, thermal
infrared remote sensing, carbon budget, global land cover/use mapping, weather
forecast and so on, sharing their applications of remote sensing and GIS. And
the participants will have a chance to practice mini-projects in groups and
exchange knowledge and experience with other group members.
