The closing ceremony of SUFOGIS(GIS and Remote Sensing for Sustainable Forestry and Ecology) spring school in-house training was held online on April 23,2022. The closing ceremony was hosted by Professor Jingfeng Huang from Zhejiang University. Professor Huang reviewed the process of the training, summarized the significance of the activity in promoting remote sensing education and international cooperation, and announced the completion of the SUFOGIS spring school in-house training.
SUFOGIS spring school in-house training closing ceremony
The SUFOGIS spring school in-house training was held from April 8 to 23. In the first stage, scholars from Aerospace Information Research Institute (CAS), Tsinghua University, Zhejiang University,China Agricultural University, Ningbo University, National Satellite Meteorological Center, Fujian Normal University, Hangzhou Dianzi University,Jiangxi Agricultural University, PIESAT Information Technology Co., Ltd and Beijing Spider Co., Ltd have given a total of 17 courses on vegetation and ecology of remote sensing, hyperspectral remote sensing, thermal infrared remote sensing, carbon budget, global land cover/use mapping, weather forecast and so on.
Agenda of in-house training
In the second stage,participants completed their mini-projects, finished the mini-project opening and final report by combining the knowledge and technology acquired in the first stage. Experts gave their detailed comments and guidance during the process of mini-projects. After the two-week training, a total of 150 participants successfully completed the spring school in-house training, and obtained the certificate of attendance.

The spring school in-house training was held by Zhejiang University and Fujian Normal University under the EU international cooperation program SUFOGIS. The successful holding of the SUFOGIS spring school in-house training have played a positive role in improving participants' disciplinary literacy and professional skills, strengthening school-enterprise cooperation, and promoting inter-school and international exchanges as well as the development of disciplinary education.
The SUFOGIS spring school in-house training also have been reported in other institutions.
