Introduction
Zhejiang University and Fujian Normal University will hold Spring School in House Training (http://rs.zju.edu.cn/NoticeAnnouncement/info.aspx?itemid=956) under the EU international cooperation program SUFOGIS (GIS and Remote Sensing for Sustainable Forestry and Ecology). The case studies developed by partners of SUFOGIS will be used as the training materials. These case studies are available on https://sufogis.volgatech.net/case-study/index.php.
The well-known scholars will give presentations on vegetation and ecology of remote sensing,hyperspectral remote sensing, thermal infrared remote sensing, carbon budget,global land cover/use mapping, weather forecast and so on. These scientists are from Aerospace Information Research Institute (CAS), Tsinghua University, Zhejiang University, China Agricultural University, Ningbo University, National Satellite Meteorological Center, Fujian Normal University, Hangzhou Dianzi University, Jiangxi Agricultural University. Two companies, PIESAT Information Technology Co., Ltd and Beijing Spider Co., Ltd.will share their applications of remote sensing and GIS.
The second stage is mainly for the participants to practice mini-projects in groups. The training will provide topics of mini-projects and offer guidance during the project implementation. Participants can also choose topics according to their research interests and professional background.
